முன்னொருமுறை ‘பொதிகை’ தொலைக்காட்சியில் Hello Partner பார்த்துவிட்டதால், நானும் இவ்வாரம் பார்க்கவில்லை. இன்னொருமுறை பார்க்கும் அளவுக்கு ஆர்வம் இல்லாததும் ஒரு காரணம். இப்போது வரவர சன் டி.வியில் ‘முத்தான திரைப்படங்கள்’ வரிசையில் மிக மிகச்சாதாரண படங்கள் ஒளிபரப்பாகின்றன, சிவாஜியின் படங்களையும் சேர்த்துதான். டாக்டர் சிவா, இமயம், அடுத்தவாரம் வரப்போகும் அன்பே ஆருயிரே எல்லாமும் அந்த வகைதான். உண்மையிலேயே இன்னும் முத்தான திரைப்படங்கள் எவ்வளவோ மிச்சமிருக்கின்றன.

நீங்கள் சொல்வது ரொம்ப சரி. 25 வருஷங்களுக்கு முன்னால் வந்த எல்லா படமும் முத்தான படம் இல்லை! இந்த வாரம் பாருங்க, “நாலும் தெரிந்தவன்”, “அன்பே ஆருயிரே” – ஒரு தீம் இல்லாமல் படங்களைப் போடுவதனால் வர்ர ப்ராப்ளம்.
நான் சன்டிவிக்கும் ஒரு ஈமெய்ல் அனுப்பினேன். அவங்க சில சமயம் யாராவது வெளி நாடுகளிலிருந்து மெயில் அனுப்பினால் ஒத்துக்குவாங்க. ஆனால் இப்போ எல்லாம் புகழ்ந்து வருகிற கடிதங்களை மட்டும்தான் குறிப்பிடுவாங்க போல இருக்கு! நாம எல்லாரும் ஒரு ஈமெய்ல் போராட்டம் நடத்தணும் போல இருக்கு!

My name is RV Subramanyan. I am an NRI, and I live in Newark, California. I am a big fan of the this program, and I try to watch it as much as possible. Thanks for broadcasting this program!

I have a couple of requests. Would it be possible to know the schedule beforehand? As things stand now, the schedule for the coming week is announced on Fridays. It would help if I know more because maintaining the blog would be easier in the circumstances. I understand that you don’t want to announce the next month’s program in advance in tv – noone is going to remember the next 30 movies. But instead of always announcing the movies until Friday, perhaps the next 5 movies can be announced. Of course, if I can get access to the next month’s schedule, I can publicize it in my blog.
Secondly, it would be good if we can have a theme for a week. Long back, sun tv used to have a “nagaicchuvai vaaram” or a “kathal vaaram”. Perhaps more granularity can be used here – “Balachander’s movies in 60s”, “famous plays that were made into films” would make the program more interesting. If you can add a 5 minute intro from famous personalities – somebody like Theodore Bhaskaran, or even a non-filmi personality – say, Krishnamachari Srikkanth talking about Alaigal Oyvathillai – would add to the charm of the program. You can clearly use exceprts from such interviews as part of the announcement as well!

RV, 75 years kondattam is just a pacakging thing. They put those movies anyway.
Avanga kitta poi, nuanced selection strategies ellam pesina, eppadi reply pannuvanga? Your expectations are too much from SUN TV. They just want a regular repeatable programme concept tht involves daily 10:30 movies. Earlier, the vaaram concept was used but now it is boring for the user. Even during those vaarams, nagaichuvai vaaram was used to telecast unrelated nagaichuvais and sometimes even action thriller with popular comic scenes was put as nagaichivai padam. I remember karagattakaran came as nagaichuvai padam:-)
So, it is just a filler for them to telecast movies(Same old programming) but package in an interesting way that doesnt involve too mcuh weekly work for them
Nuanced filtering like KB 60’s movies involve too much effort so they wont do it. It defeats the purpose of spending little time and fallign abck on filling time with movies but with an interesting pacakging
